My primary area of interest as a blogger, is in the impact of technology on society.  I have developed a mashup using New York Times and Twitter APIs, and written blogs/technical papers on Open Data, Open Development, Open Education, and Web 2.0 areas such as Tweet Semantics, Semantic Web/Price Dispersion, Social Media and Development. My blogs have appeared in People, Spaces, Deliberation (World Bank), Washington Post, ReadWriteWeb, Edudemic and other publicationsI have also written papers and books, and been covered in the press via media mentions.  Here is a list of all my blogs.

I work in the corporate finance unit of the World Bank and have been working on how budgets can enable the flow of expertise within the institution, and budget transparency. Previously I also worked on the design and implementation of the World Bank Scorecard

Economics Department in Latin America Division of World Bank (budget, knowledge, and some work on ICTs): As team lead and OPE supervisor for my team, I contributed to a balanced budget and a well managed work program, overall quality, and well managed deliverables for the department, while contributing to projects and being a co-author of the LAC E-government agenda. I also developed a knowledge strategy for my department and trained country offices (Brazil, Argentina, and Bolivia) in use of knowledge tools.
 

Economics Department in Latin America Division of World Bank (public sector administration management of portfolio, and e-government): As Acting TTL and backup TTL for tasks in Latin America Public Sector, I contributed to Public Sector Modernization in the LAC region, with particular emphasis on e-government. My contributions to trade, decentralization, civil service reform, extractive industries in Peru, governance indicators, trust fund and portfolio management were recognized by my co-workers. (Projects include: OECS E-government project, and Mexico Business Process Outsourcing project)

I was responsible for portfolio/deliverables/work program management, deliverables, quality, and overall monitoring, I was also the key liaison for Aid Coordination, supporting the Director in establishing strategic partnerships with development organizations and bilateral aid agencies, internal/external liaison. As a part of the Front Office, I also functioned as interlocutor internally as well as with Government of Bangladesh (GOB). Produced the Annual Review of Portfolio Performance (Bangladesh), first draft of Country Portfolio Performance Review, and contributed to the Country Assistance Strategy

As a Visiting Professor, I taught Management of Information Systems, Accounting I and II, Introduction to Finance and helped develop MIS and MBA program curricula. As Special Assistant to the President, I worked on outreach, contacts with the government, and faculty programs
